Executive producer of Working Class, Elaine J. Lambert serves as special assistant to the president for creative development and public relations at Pennsylvania College of Technology. She also is a member of the Board of Directors of WVIA Public Media.

A former journalist, Lambert led Penn College’s public relations and marketing efforts for 30 years. During that time, the College earned many national awards and honors for publications, advertising, website, and television productions produced in-house by Lambert and members of her staff.

In 2014, she stepped away from administrative responsibilities and focused on writing and editing several books on the college’s history. She also served as executive producer of Working Class: 100 Years of Hands-on Education, a 2015 Telly Award-winning documentary produced in partnership with WVIA Public Media.

Audience response to the documentary led Lambert to develop the concept for the Working Class public media initiative. The series will include six hour-long episodes – for broadcast on public television and the Internet – that depict the past, present and future of vibrant, 21st century career fields.

To encourage use of the films in classroom and homeschool environments, the series’ website and social media will provide students, teachers, and parents with access to a wide variety of resources that promote career awareness and encourage hands-on educational activities.

Working Class blogs, written by Lambert, will feature a variety of topics related to education and career awareness. Readers and viewers are encouraged to share ideas with her via Working Class social media or by e-mailing elambert@pct.edu.
